Why STL Spent 20,000 Hours Understanding Hair Science
Do you know when the last major hair loss drug was approved by the FDA?
1997.
That’s nearly 30 years ago. Since then, we’ve invented the iPhone, decoded the human genome, and explored Mars. Yet, if you walk into a clinic today for hair loss treatment, you are likely offered the exact same two options your father was offered: Minoxidil and Finasteride.
They work well, but often patients are left wanting more.
That’s why we created TOPK11.
We didn't just want another hair growth supplement. We wanted to apply a new scientific discipline called "Systems Biology" to the problem of a balding scalp and bring the latest research to the patient.
The diagram below shows the number of publications associated with hair loss since 1992, when finasteride was launched for prostate health. Source: Pubmed

It’s Not Just Genetics
For decades, the industry told you that androgenetic alopecia (pattern baldness) is purely genetic. If your dad lost his hair, you will too.
But our Co-Founder, Dr. Nicholas J. Sadgrove (PhD), found something interesting in the data.
Pattern hair loss is increasing with every generation. If it were purely genetic, the rates should be stable. The fact that it is rising suggests that "Nurture" (environment, diet, metabolism) is just as powerful as "Nature" (genetics).
We realized that a balding scalp isn't just "unlucky." It’s an organ under stress.
Specifically, it is suffering from metabolic stress. The hair follicles are struggling with:
Oxidative damage (rusting of the cells).
Chronic inflammation.
Signalling protein damange (from TGF-beta)
The "Big Eight Strikes"
At Systems Trichology London, we identified the "Big Eight Strikes" that attack your hair, and published a peer-reviewed paper about this. Most hair loss supplements only target one strike (usually nutritional deficiencies).
TOPK11 was formulated to hit multiple targets at once, especially those ignored by current drugs.
For example, we found that procyanidin B2 (from specialized Apple Extract) doesn't just feed the hair; it actually counteracts TGF-beta, a signalling protein strongly associated with hair loss.
Why We Built This for the Thai Market
We wanted to bring something different: Radical Transparency and uncompromising quality.
We formulated TOPK11 using only imported ingredients while being compliant to the Thai FDA, but we optimized it using bioavailability enhancers like Piperine (Black Pepper Extract) to ensure your body actually absorbs the active ingredients.
If you are looking for a proven hair growth supplement that looks at the whole picture and encapsulates modern science, you are at the right place.
But how exactly does it work inside your body?
In the next post, I’m going to take you deep into the biology of the follicle and explain why "feeding" your hair sugar might be killing it.
